Fellow fighters update #6

Thank you for keeping these dear friends in prayer as they fight their respective cancer battles. We praise God for His sustaining grace.

Maria

Let me introduce you to Maria, a dear friend from my old church. She has been battling a condition with her kidneys but then was recently diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), a condition which disrupts the blood-forming cells in the bone marrow. She will need a bone marrow transplant and just found out that one of her sisters is a donor match... praise God! πŸ™ But please pray as Maria has a chromosomal mutation which means that they’ll have to make sure that her sister doesn’t have it before they can proceed. Also because of her mutation, she needs to do the transplant sooner that later, as early as January or February Lord-willing.

Please pray for courage, faith, and strength for Maria as well as her parents who have recently come to Philly to help her. This will be a difficult journey but I’ve been so encouraged by Maria’s heart as she is trusting and resting in God, even praising Him in the midst of this trial.

Tabitha

Tabby recently started her final cycle of frontline chemotherapy before she enters a couple years of maintenance treatment. This final cycle should be less intense than before but please pray for strength and protection esp. from fevers which she struggled with the previous time. I’m so proud of Tabby.

Ryan

Ryan has been progressing well with steadily improving blood counts and weight gain. His bone marrow biopsy from a few months ago showed no signs of leukemia! πŸ’ͺπŸ™ He also got his PICC line out. Since then he has been able to gradually return to playing sports and other activities. It was so encouraging to watch a video of him dribbling and shooting baskets again. Please continue to pray for the regeneration of his nerves in his ankles and feet which were affected from prior chemotherapy complications early on in his treatment.

Ron

Ron’s PET scan from a few months ago was clear of cancer and he remains in remission! πŸ€— He says he is doing well overall. Please continue to pray for healing of his right foot drop and left hand weakness from his prior treatment.

Trent

Trent’s 9 month Car-T bone marrow biopsy results from last week came back clear of leukemia! πŸ™He has been doing well these past few months but continues to struggle with low blood levels requiring infusions and shots.
